A US journalist reviewed the Hindi epic Ramayana First, applauding its storytelling but felt the film fell short compared to the blockbuster RRR, and criticized Ranbir Kapoor’s performance.
The review of Ramayana First was published by MensXP and written by a US-based film critic. The critic praised the movie’s attempt to bring the ancient epic to contemporary audiences, noting strong visuals and a compelling narrative structure.
While acknowledging the film’s artistic ambition, the reviewer compared it to S. S. Rajamouli’s RRR, stating that RRR delivered a more powerful emotional impact and higher production value. The comparison highlighted that Ramayana First, though well-crafted, did not reach the same cinematic heights.
The critic also took issue with the casting of Ranbir Kapoor, describing his portrayal as miscast and lacking the gravitas required for the role. This critique was a key point in the overall assessment of the film’s performance.
Overall, the review presents a balanced view, commending the film’s strengths while pointing out its shortcomings in comparison to recent Indian blockbusters.
