Two Festival Special Trains to Run via Gorakhpur, Easing Delhi‑Gorakhpur‑Bihar Travel

Two special trains will operate via Gorakhpur during upcoming festivals, simplifying travel between Delhi, Gorakhpur and Bihar. The service aims to boost connectivity for pilgrims and tourists.
Indian Railways has announced that two festival special trains will run via Gorakhpur during the forthcoming festival season, providing a direct link between Delhi, Gorakhpur and Bihar.
The first train, the Gorakhpur–Delhi Special, will depart from Gorakhpur Junction at 06:30 hrs and reach New Delhi at 18:45 hrs, while the second, the Bihar–Gorakhpur Express, will leave Patna at 07:15 hrs and arrive in Gorakhpur by 20:30 hrs.
Officials say the new services are designed to accommodate the surge in pilgrim and tourist traffic, reducing travel time by up to two hours compared to the current routes that require a change at Lucknow.
Both trains will operate on a weekly basis during the festival period, with additional coaches to handle the increased passenger load. Passengers are advised to book tickets in advance as seats are expected to fill quickly.
