Events across Tripura marked the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel with flag hoisting, cultural programmes and speeches honoring the nation‑builder.
Tripura observed the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, India’s first Deputy Prime Minister and architect of national integration, through a series of state‑wide events. The celebrations were coordinated by the state government and took place in the capital and several districts.
The day began with a flag‑hoisting ceremony at the state secretariat, attended by the Chief Minister, senior officials and representatives of the Patel Memorial Trust. Speakers highlighted Patel’s pivotal role in unifying the princely states and stressed his continued relevance for contemporary India.
Cultural performances featuring Tripura’s folk dances, a documentary screening on Patel’s life, and a special exhibition of his letters were organized in Agartala. Schools participated by conducting essay competitions and patriotic song renditions.
