The Rajasthan state administration has admitted that 611 government schools are operating without permanent structures, a revelation made during the Chief Justice of India's recent school‑infrastructure inspections.
The Rajasthan government has officially acknowledged that 611 public schools in the state are functioning without any permanent buildings.
The disclosure was made as the Chief Justice of India’s office conducts a series of inspections aimed at assessing school infrastructure nationwide.
Authorities indicated that many of the affected schools are currently using temporary solutions such as rented rooms, tents or makeshift shelters while construction plans are being finalised.
Education officials said the shortfall is most acute in remote and rural districts, underscoring persistent challenges in delivering basic educational facilities.
The state has promised to earmark additional funds and accelerate the building of permanent structures, with the CJI inspection team slated to monitor the implementation progress.
