The Madhya Pradesh government announced a plan to create 30 industrial areas and provide land parcels to 5,000 enterprises by 2028.
The state government of Madhya Pradesh unveiled a comprehensive industrial expansion programme aimed at establishing thirty new industrial zones across the region. The initiative is designed to attract investment, boost manufacturing capacity and generate employment opportunities.
Under the scheme, the government will allocate ready‑made plots to a target of 5,000 businesses, ranging from small‑scale units to large manufacturers. Officials said the plots will be equipped with basic infrastructure such as roads, water supply, power and waste‑management facilities to reduce setup time for investors.
The rollout is scheduled to be completed by 2028, with the first set of zones expected to become operational within the next two years. State officials highlighted that the project aligns with the broader "Make in India" agenda and will complement existing industrial corridors in the state.
Industry bodies welcomed the move, noting that the availability of pre‑developed land can lower entry barriers for both domestic and foreign firms. The government has also promised streamlined approval processes and fiscal incentives to further encourage participation.
If successful, the plan could position Madhya Pradesh as a major manufacturing hub in central India, potentially creating thousands of jobs and contributing significantly to the state's GDP growth.
