The Madhya Pradesh government has introduced rules that make fee disclosure, teacher qualification details, CCTV installation and student counselling compulsory for all coaching centres.
The state education department of Madhya Pradesh issued a notification setting new standards for private coaching centres. Under the rules, every centre must publicly display its fee structure, either on its premises or on its website, to ensure students and parents can compare costs transparently.
In addition to fee details, the regulations require centres to maintain up‑to‑date profiles of their teaching staff, including qualifications and experience, which must be accessible to learners. The move is aimed at curbing unqualified instructors and improving the overall quality of tuition services.
Security and student welfare are also addressed. Coaching institutes are now obligated to install closed‑circuit television cameras in classrooms and common areas, and to provide professional counselling services to help students manage academic pressure. Non‑compliance is expected to attract penalties as stipulated in the state’s education act.
The directive follows growing concerns about rising tuition fees and the lack of oversight in the booming private tutoring market. Officials said the measures will promote accountability and protect the interests of students across the state.
