The Jharkhand health department has put forward a plan to construct a flyover and an underpass near the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) in Ranchi to ease traffic congestion.
The health department of Jharkhand submitted a proposal to build a flyover and an underpass adjacent to the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) in Ranchi. The infrastructure is aimed at de‑congesting the busy arterial roads that serve the hospital and surrounding neighborhoods.
Officials said the twin structures will provide separate grade‑separated routes for through‑traffic and local vehicles, reducing delays for patients, staff and commuters. The flyover is expected to carry traffic over the main approach road, while the underpass will allow safe crossing for pedestrians and service vehicles.
The proposal is currently under review by the state’s urban development and finance ministries. If approved, detailed design work and tendering will follow, with construction slated to begin in the next fiscal year. Funding sources have not been disclosed, but the department indicated that the project aligns with broader efforts to improve healthcare accessibility in the region.
