The Karnataka Congress chief publicly warned the Chief Justice of India against acting like a member of the ruling BJP, calling for judicial impartiality.
The Karnataka state unit of the Indian National Congress, led by its chief, issued a statement criticizing the Chief Justice of India (CJI) for perceived partisan conduct.
The leader asserted that the apex court's head must uphold neutrality and refrain from actions that could be interpreted as aligning with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), the ruling party at the centre.
The remark comes amid ongoing debates over the judiciary's role in politically sensitive matters, though no specific case was cited in the statement.
The Congress chief urged all judicial officers to maintain independence, emphasizing that public confidence depends on an unbiased judiciary.
