Rising gold prices have cooled demand for gold purchases during the Dhanteras festival in Gujarat, according to reports.
Gold sales on Dhanteras, the traditional day for buying jewelry, have seen a noticeable decline in Gujarat as prices surge. Traders in major cities reported lower footfall at gold shops compared to previous years.
The increase in gold prices, driven by global market fluctuations, has made the purchase of gold more expensive for consumers. As a result, many potential buyers have postponed their purchases or opted for alternative investments.
Industry experts suggest that the trend could continue if gold prices remain high, potentially affecting the overall festive spending in the state.
