Ravindra Yadav, an elderly man who went to calm a clash in Tanda village of Pandarak block, was shot in the head and is in critical condition.

Pandarak police station’s jurisdiction in Patna district witnessed a violent episode on Tuesday as flood‑affected Tanda village became the scene of a heated dispute between two groups. An elderly resident, Ravindra Yadav, stepped in to act as a peacemaker when the confrontation escalated.

According to eyewitnesses, Yadav was struck by a firearm at close range, the bullet hitting him in the head. He was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital where doctors have classified his condition as critical and are providing intensive care.

Local police have launched an investigation, sealing the area and collecting statements from villagers. No arrests have been reported yet, and authorities have urged anyone with information to come forward as the community grapples with the dual challenges of flooding and rising violence.
