Delhi's air quality index has dropped into the 'Poor' category, with meteorological forecasts indicating a further deterioration in conditions in the coming days.
The air quality in the National Capital Territory of Delhi has recently slipped into the 'Poor' category, raising concerns among residents and health officials. This decline marks a noticeable shift from previous readings, signaling an increase in particulate matter and other pollutants in the atmosphere.
Meteorological forecasts suggest that the situation is likely to worsen further in the immediate future. Experts attribute this trend to a combination of meteorological factors and ongoing emission sources, which are expected to keep the Air Quality Index (AQI) elevated.
Residents are advised to stay updated with real-time air quality data and take necessary precautions, such as wearing masks outdoors and minimizing prolonged exposure to polluted air. Health authorities recommend that sensitive groups, including children, the elderly, and those with respiratory conditions, exercise extra caution during this period.
While specific mitigation measures are typically announced by the government in response to severe pollution episodes, the current 'Poor' status serves as an early warning for the public to prepare for potentially stricter conditions ahead.
