Thousands of commuters flocked to Hyderabad’s major bus and railway terminals as the city prepares for the Dasara festival.
Hyderabad’s central bus depot and the city’s main railway stations reported a noticeable surge in passenger traffic on the eve of the Dasara festivities. Travelers from across the state and neighboring regions arrived early to secure seats for the upcoming holiday period.
Transport officials said that the rise in footfall is typical for the week leading up to Dasara, when families and pilgrims travel to temples and cultural events across Telangana.
To manage the crowd, the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation and South Central Railway deployed additional staff, announced extra train services, and urged commuters to plan journeys in advance.
The Dasara festival, celebrated with processions and cultural programs, draws large numbers of devotees to Hyderabad’s historic sites, prompting a temporary spike in demand for public transport.
Authorities continue to monitor the situation and have requested passengers to adhere to safety guidelines while using the transit facilities.
