The Bihar government has introduced a stipend program to provide monthly financial assistance to young advocates commencing practice, announced by Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary.

Patna, Bihar – The state government has unveiled a new stipend scheme aimed at supporting young lawyers who are beginning their legal practice. The initiative is intended to ease the financial burden faced by fresh advocates as they set up their offices and manage initial expenses.

Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary formally launched the programme, stating that selected lawyers will receive a regular monthly payment. While the exact amount has not been disclosed, the scheme promises a steady source of income until the beneficiaries become financially self‑sufficient.

Senior District Officer Sanjay, who briefed the media on the rollout, explained that applications will be processed through the state’s legal department and that eligibility will be based on recent enrollment and registration with the Bar Council of Bihar.

Officials anticipate that the stipend will encourage more graduates to pursue law as a viable career and improve access to legal services across the state, particularly in underserved districts.
