The Bihar cricket side enters the Ranji Trophy's Elite group with limited preparation, facing a challenging schedule against stronger opponents.
Bihar's cricket association confirmed that the state team will compete in the Elite division of the upcoming Ranji Trophy season. The Elite group pits the side against historically stronger sides, raising the competitive bar significantly.
The board acknowledged that the squad has had only a short window for training camps and practice matches, citing logistical constraints and limited access to quality pitches. Coaches are focusing on core skills and fitness to bridge the preparation gap.
Analysts note that Bihar will face teams such as Karnataka, Mumbai and Delhi, all of which boast deep talent pools and recent success. While the odds are steep, the team hopes disciplined performances can earn respect and possibly an upset in the early rounds.
