The India Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for thunderstorms, lightning and winds of 30‑40 km/h across Jaipur and 11 other districts in eastern Rajasthan on September 27.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) released a yellow weather alert for 12 districts in Rajasthan, including the state capital Jaipur, for September 27. The warning cites the likelihood of thunderstorms, lightning strikes and wind speeds ranging between 30 and 40 kilometres per hour.
The alert primarily covers the eastern part of the state, where meteorologists also anticipate light rain in several locations. Residents have been advised to secure loose objects, avoid non‑essential travel during the peak of the gusts and stay informed through official updates.
A yellow alert represents the second tier of IMD warnings, signalling that weather conditions could disrupt daily activities but are not expected to cause widespread damage. Authorities will continue to monitor the situation and may upgrade the warning if the intensity increases.
