Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has directed swift relief operations in districts hit by recent floods, mobilising state resources to provide food, shelter and medical aid.
Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu announced an urgent relief package for the districts of Andhra Pradesh that have been inundated by heavy rains over the past week. The state government has ordered the deployment of disaster response teams, including the police, fire services and the Andhra Pradesh Disaster Response Force, to distribute food packets, clean drinking water and temporary shelters to affected families.
The relief plan also calls for the establishment of medical camps in the hardest‑hit areas to treat flood‑related illnesses and injuries. State health officials will coordinate with local hospitals and NGOs to ensure that essential medicines and emergency care reach remote villages.
Naidu instructed the state’s public works department to clear blocked roads and restore power lines as quickly as possible, aiming to restore basic services within 48 hours. The chief minister emphasized that the government will continue to monitor the situation and provide additional assistance if the water levels rise further.
The announcement comes as the monsoon trough intensified, causing rivers such as the Krishna and Godavari to overflow. Authorities have urged residents to stay alert, follow evacuation orders where issued, and cooperate with relief teams on the ground.
