The Western Central Railway has submitted a proposal to the Railway Board for a daily MEMU service connecting Satna, Rewa and Rampar Naikin under the Lalitpur‑Singrauli rail project.

The Western Central Railway has forwarded a proposal to the Railway Board for a daily MEMU (Mainline Electric Multiple Unit) service that will run from Satna, pass through Rewa and terminate at Rampar Naikin. The request comes as trial runs on the new rail line extending from Rampar Naikin to Churhat under the Lalitpur‑Singrauli railway project have already progressed.

If approved, the service will provide a regular commuter link for passengers traveling between these three towns in Madhya Pradesh, enhancing regional connectivity and reducing travel time. The MEMU train is expected to operate on a daily schedule, catering to both local commuters and longer‑distance travelers.

The Railway Board’s decision is awaited, and officials have indicated that the proposal aligns with broader efforts to expand rail infrastructure in central India. The new line, still under trial, is part of a larger initiative to improve freight and passenger movement across the state.

Stakeholders, including local authorities and passenger groups, have welcomed the prospect of a dedicated MEMU service, citing potential economic benefits and better access to education and health facilities for residents of Satna, Rewa and Rampar Naikin.

The project’s progress will be monitored closely, with further updates expected once the Railway Board gives its final nod.
