Vande Bharat Express Collides with Tractor-Trolley on Jharkhand Track

The premium Vande Bharat Express was en route on the Ranchi‑Howrah corridor when it encountered a tractor-trolley that had strayed onto the tracks in Jharkhand. Railway officials said the incident occurred in the early hours, though the exact kilometre post has not been disclosed.

According to preliminary reports, the high‑speed train collided with the slow‑moving trolley, causing minor damage to the train's nose and derailing the trolley. No casualties among passengers were reported, but a few railway staff attended to the injured operator of the trolley.

The East Central Railway immediately activated emergency protocols, dispatching rescue teams and halting train services on the affected section. Investigations have been launched to determine how the trolley entered the railway line and whether safety lapses contributed to the accident.

Authorities have assured commuters that the track will be cleared and services restored as soon as safety checks are completed, and they have urged the public to avoid crossing railway tracks with agricultural equipment.
