India’s young hockey talent Vaibhav Sooryavanshi is poised to make his Asian Games debut as the national team prepares to face Sri Lanka in the semifinal clash.
Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, a promising young defender, is expected to step onto the Asian Games field for the first time during the India‑Sri Lanka semifinal clash. The national squad, which has been training intensively in the lead‑up to the Games, has included Sooryavanshi in its final roster.
The semifinal match, which will decide the finalists for the gold medal contest, is scheduled to take place at the newly upgraded hockey venue in the host city. India’s coaching staff believes that Sooryavanshi’s recent performances in domestic tournaments warrant his inclusion in the high‑stakes encounter.
If selected, the debut would mark a significant milestone in Sooryavanshi’s career, adding to the growing list of young players breaking into the senior national side. Analysts note that his inclusion could bring fresh energy to a team that has already shown strong form in earlier rounds.
