The Uttar Pradesh government has sanctioned a ₹116.42 crore project to build ten bridges across eight districts, aiming to improve regional connectivity.

The state cabinet of Uttar Pradesh has given the green light to a infrastructure programme that will see ten new bridges erected across eight districts, with an overall outlay of ₹116.42 crore. The approval was announced as part of the government's ongoing effort to upgrade transport links in the region.

Officials said the bridges are intended to ease traffic bottlenecks, shorten travel times and provide safer river crossings for commuters and freight operators. By improving connectivity, the project is expected to stimulate local trade and support economic activity in the affected districts.

The funding will be drawn from the state’s budget and the construction will be carried out by the agencies responsible for public works in Uttar Pradesh. While detailed designs and tender processes are being finalised, the authorities have indicated that work will commence in the coming weeks.

No specific completion date has been disclosed, but the government has pledged regular monitoring to ensure the project stays within the allocated budget and meets quality standards. The bridge programme adds to a series of recent infrastructure initiatives aimed at bolstering Uttar Pradesh’s transport network.
