UP Schools up to Class 12 Shut on Election Commission Directive

On 23 October, schools in Uttar Pradesh up to class 12 were closed in compliance with an order issued by the Election Commission of India. The directive was issued to ensure a neutral environment during the ongoing electoral process. As a result, students across the state missed a day of classes and teachers were instructed to suspend instructional activities. The closure is expected to remain in effect until the Election Commission lifts the ban, after which schools will resume normal operations. Authorities have advised parents to keep students engaged with home study during the break.
