Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister and BJP leader Brajesh Pathak said that Punjab needs to implement the Uttar Pradesh model to protect the state from drug traffickers.
He pointed to recent anti‑drug initiatives in Uttar Pradesh—tougher enforcement, dedicated rehabilitation centres and inter‑state coordination—that have shown measurable results, and suggested Punjab adopt similar steps.
Pathak made the remarks during a press interaction in Patiala, where he was asked about the rise in drug‑related incidents in the state. He urged the Punjab government to study UP’s policies and adapt them to local conditions.
