Udit Raj Criticizes Sonia Gandhi Over Babri Masjid Response

Congress spokesperson Udit Raj took to the floor to voice his disapproval of Sonia Gandhi’s response to the Babri Masjid demolition. He said that the nation’s emotional climate demands a more decisive stance from the party’s leadership. Raj highlighted that Gandhi’s remarks appeared lukewarm, leaving many voters feeling let down.

The comments came amid a broader debate within the Congress about how to address communal tensions sparked by the 1992 demolition. Raj’s critique underscores a growing rift between senior leaders and the party’s grassroots wing.

Political analysts suggest that Raj’s remarks could influence the party’s strategy ahead of upcoming elections, as voters seek clear positions on sensitive communal issues. The Congress has yet to issue a formal response to the criticism.

Observers note that the incident reflects the party’s internal divisions over how to balance secularism with the demands of a diverse electorate.
