A bus traveling from Guna to Gwalior on NH‑46 lost both rear wheels near Sesai village in Shivpuri district, skidding before stopping; around 20 passengers survived with minor injuries.

A passenger bus en route from Guna to Gwalior on the national highway NH‑46 experienced a sudden mechanical failure near the village of Sesai in Shivpuri district, Madhya Pradesh. Both rear wheels detached from the vehicle, causing it to skid several metres along the road before coming to a halt.

The incident left the bus stranded on the highway, but no fatalities were reported. Approximately twenty passengers managed to escape serious harm, sustaining only minor injuries that were treated on site.

Emergency services and local authorities arrived promptly, providing first aid and arranging alternative transport. All passengers were transferred to other vehicles and continued their journey toward Gwalior under police escort.

Preliminary investigations suggest a possible axle or wheel‑assembly defect, though a detailed technical examination is pending. The highway was briefly closed for safety checks before traffic resumed.

Police have recorded statements from the driver and witnesses, and the case will be forwarded to the transport department for further action.
