Two separate overturns at Javra on the Delhi‑Mumbai Expressway within two hours killed four people, including a mother‑in‑law and daughter‑in‑law from Mumbai, and left eight injured.
The Delhi‑Mumbai Expressway near Javra in Ratlam, Madhya Pradesh, witnessed two serious accidents on Tuesday morning. Within a span of roughly two hours, two cars traveling in the same direction overturned at the same spot on the highway.
Authorities confirmed that four individuals lost their lives in the incidents. The deceased included a mother‑in‑law and her daughter‑in‑law from Mumbai, as well as a patient from Gujarat and the driver of the second vehicle.
Eight other occupants were rescued with injuries ranging from minor to serious. Emergency services, including ambulances and police, reached the scene promptly and transported the injured to nearby hospitals for treatment.
The police have opened an investigation to determine the exact cause of the back‑to‑back overturns, while traffic on the expressway was temporarily halted to allow rescue operations and clearance of the wreckage.
