Tripura has completed fencing of roughly 806 kilometres along its border with Bangladesh, leaving nearly 50 kilometres yet to be fenced.

Tripura has now fenced 805.99 kilometres of its border with Bangladesh, according to a recent report by Northeast Today. The work brings the total length of secured border in the state close to 806 kilometres, with only about 50 kilometres remaining unfinished.
The fencing initiative is part of the state's ongoing effort to strengthen border management and curb illegal cross‑border movement. State officials have overseen the construction, which involves installing barbed wire and concrete pillars along the demarcated line.
Authorities say the remaining stretch is expected to be completed in the coming months, after which the entire border will be fully enclosed. Completion of the project is viewed as a step toward enhancing security and fostering better coordination with neighboring Bangladesh.
The progress reflects the broader focus of northeastern states on infrastructure development along international frontiers, aiming to improve surveillance and reduce smuggling activities.
