Three crore fraud in Gopalganj as agency dupes 250 with fake overseas travel offers

Around 250 residents of Gopalganj were swindled of over three crore rupees by Amara Global Service Agency, which promised foreign travel and visas.
Gopalganj district in Bihar has become the focus of a large-scale fraud case after investigators uncovered that roughly 250 individuals were lured by promises of overseas travel and visa assistance. The scheme was operated by Amara Global Service Agency, located on Jadoopur Road, which collected money from victims under the pretext of facilitating foreign employment and study opportunities.
According to preliminary findings, the agency amassed more than three crore rupees from the victims. The amounts were paid in cash and through bank transfers, after the fraudsters assured the complainants that their applications would be processed and that they would soon be dispatched abroad.
Local police have registered a case and are probing the financial trail, while also warning the public against similar scams that exploit aspirations for better livelihoods abroad. Authorities have urged anyone approached with comparable offers to verify the credentials of agencies and to report suspicious solicitations immediately.
The investigation remains ongoing, and officials have indicated that further arrests may follow as more evidence is gathered.
