A plaster slab from the roof of a government school in Udaipur fell, injuring three pupils. The National Human Rights Commission has taken up the case and asked the district administration for a report.

A plaster slab detached from the roof of a government school in Udaipur, Rajasthan, and fell onto the school premises, causing injuries to three children who were present at the time. The school, described as dilapidated, had been flagged earlier for structural concerns, but no remedial work had been completed before the incident.

The injured students were promptly taken to a nearby hospital where they received medical attention for cuts and bruises. Local authorities reported that the children are in stable condition and are expected to recover fully.

Following the accident, the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) registered the case and issued a directive to the district administration to submit a detailed report on the circumstances leading to the collapse, as well as the steps taken to ensure safety in the school.

District officials have pledged to cooperate with the NHRC and to conduct a thorough inspection of the school’s infrastructure. They have also indicated that corrective measures, including repair of the roof and a review of safety protocols in other schools, will be undertaken to prevent similar incidents.
