Navratri began today and devotees are flocking to Patna's most visited shrine, where organizers have set up the auspicious muhurat and prepared for large crowds.
Navratri 2026 was inaugurated across the country today, and in Patna the city’s most frequented Navratri worship centre opened its gates for the first day of celebrations.
The venue, situated near the heart of the city, has been embellished with traditional rangoli, floral garlands and a temporary altar dedicated to Goddess Durga. Organisers announced that the auspicious muhurat for the inaugural puja will be observed at the prescribed time, drawing devotees from across Bihar.
Patna police and municipal officials have deployed additional security personnel, traffic controllers and medical teams in anticipation of a sizable crowd. Temporary stalls selling sweets, prasad and devotional items have been set up along the approach routes.
Residents report that morning chants of the goddess are already echoing from households, adding a vibrant, communal rhythm to the city’s festive atmosphere.
