Ten dead after poisonous liquor consumption in Bunda villages of Sagar district

Ten people died after drinking toxic alcohol in the villages of Nauraj and Ghooghra Khurd, Bunda sub‑division, Sagar district, Madhya Pradesh.
Sagar district officials confirmed that ten residents of the villages Nauraj and Ghooghra Khurd in the Bunda sub‑division succumbed to poisoning after consuming illicit liquor. Victims reportedly experienced sudden weakness in their limbs and the appearance of bluish marks on their bodies before collapsing.
Local authorities have launched an investigation to trace the source of the contaminated alcohol and to identify any individuals involved in its manufacture or distribution. The district health department has been mobilised to conduct autopsies and to collect samples for toxicological analysis.
The tragedy has plunged the two villages into deep mourning, with families gathering to perform last rites and community members expressing shock at the rapid spread of the fatal symptoms. Police have appealed to the public to report any information that could help locate the batch of liquor responsible for the deaths.
