A sudden spell of heavy rain in Khandwa has heightened anxiety among local farmers, who warn that continued showers could lead to significant losses.
Heavy rain swept across Khandwa in Madhya Pradesh, bringing a sharp drop in temperature and catching farmers off guard. The unexpected downpour followed a brief period of clear weather, leaving sowed fields exposed to waterlogging.
Farmers in the district say that if similar showers persist for the next one or two days, they could face substantial damage to standing crops. Many are already moving harvested produce to higher ground or temporary storage facilities to protect it from the moisture.
Local agricultural officials have advised growers to monitor weather updates closely and to employ drainage measures where possible. The situation underscores the vulnerability of rain‑dependent farming communities to rapid weather changes.
