Social Service Conducted at Heirok CHC; Hospital Conditions Inspected
In connection with Ningol Chakouba, Seven clubs of Heirok inspected the condition of Heirok Community Health Centre (CHC) and conducted a social service camp on the hospital premises today.
The camp was organized jointly by the seven clubs of Heirok Part-3 (TLYC, YBC, KYDC, KDA, HDC, YDC, INNPYC), the Village Level Federation (VLF) of Heirok Part-3, and the staff of Heirok CHC.
Speaking on the inspection and sanitation drive, TLYC President Ningthoujam Brojen Singh expressed concern over the improper disposal of litter, including plastic bottles and especially biomedical waste, across the hospital campus due to the absence of a designated disposal site. He urged the authorities and department concerned to arrange a proper dumping site immediately.
He further highlighted the lack of essential medical equipment such as ECG, ultrasound, and X-ray facilities, along with a shortage of specialist doctors in gynecology, general medicine, and pediatrics. He appealed to the department concerned to deploy the necessary doctors and equipment without delay.
Acknowledging recent improvements, he thanked the Medical Officer (MO) in-charge for addressing prior public inconveniences and increasing the laboratory staff strength by one technician, while requesting the authorities to fulfill the remaining requirements at the earliest.
