During the India‑US joint exercise Yudh Abhyas‑2026, a Skystriker loitering munition successfully engaged a target at the Mahajan firing range.

New Delhi – In the latest phase of the Indo‑US joint training programme Yudh Abhyas‑2026, Indian forces demonstrated the capability of the Skystriker loitering munition at the Mahajan field firing range. The weapon, designed to loiter over the battlefield before striking, was launched and accurately engaged a pre‑designated target, confirming its operational readiness.

The exercise, part of a broader effort to enhance interoperability between the two militaries, involved live‑fire drills under controlled conditions. Officials from both sides observed the strike, noting the precision of the munition and its potential role in future combat scenarios.

Defence analysts view the successful test as a validation of India’s ongoing modernisation drive, especially in the domain of unmanned aerial systems. The Skystriker’s performance is expected to inform further procurement decisions and integration into the Indian Army’s tactical repertoire.

The Mahajan range, located near Bikaner in Rajasthan, has been a regular venue for such bilateral drills, offering a suitable environment for testing advanced weaponry. The exercise underscores the growing strategic partnership between New Delhi and Washington, focusing on shared technology and joint operational concepts.
