Heavy snowfall in Himachal Pradesh has caused a sharp drop in temperatures, with several districts experiencing severe cold conditions.
Heavy snowfall across the hills of Himachal Pradesh has ushered in a wave of severe cold, with temperature readings falling sharply in many districts. The sudden dip in temperature has prompted local authorities to issue advisories urging residents to bundle up and limit travel where possible.
Several schools and government offices in the affected areas have been temporarily closed as a precautionary measure. Roadways connecting remote mountain villages are reported to be slippery, and officials have warned of possible disruptions to transport services.
Power supply in some high‑altitude pockets has been intermittently affected due to the accumulation of snow on transmission lines. Emergency teams remain on standby to clear blocked routes and assist any residents stranded by the weather.
Meteorological officials say the cold spell is expected to persist for the next few days as the snowfall continues, and they have advised the public to stay updated with local weather bulletins.
