Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh are experiencing severe cold following heavy snowfall, with temperatures dropping sharply across the regions.
Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh are grappling with a severe cold spell after a significant snowfall that covered the hills and valleys. Meteorological reports indicate that temperatures have plummeted, with several districts recording lows below 5°C.
The snowfall, which began on Monday, has left roads in many areas impassable and disrupted local transport. Authorities have urged residents to stay indoors and keep emergency supplies ready.
In addition to the cold, the heavy snow has caused power outages in remote villages, prompting the state electricity boards to deploy repair teams.
Weather officials predict that the cold wave will persist through the weekend, with a gradual rise in temperatures expected only after the monsoon season begins.
