The second phase of elections for sarpanch and panchayat members will be conducted tomorrow across 139 gram panchayats in Ajmer district.
Ajmer district in Rajasthan will hold the second phase of its rural local body elections tomorrow, covering the election of sarpanches and other panchayat representatives. The poll will be conducted in 139 gram panchayats, marking a continuation of the statewide schedule for village-level governance elections.
The State Election Commission has deployed polling stations and staff across the designated gram panchayats, ensuring that voting proceeds smoothly and securely. Election officials have also coordinated with local police to maintain order at the booths.
These elections will decide the leadership of village councils for the next five-year term, influencing development projects, resource allocation and local administration. Voter awareness campaigns have been intensified ahead of the vote to encourage participation.
Preliminary reports from the first phase indicated a moderate turnout, and authorities hope the second phase will see higher voter engagement as the election date approaches.
