A nationwide school holiday is scheduled for November 5, with several states confirming closures due to the Diwali vacation and an impending weather warning.
The Economic Times reports that schools across India will observe a holiday on November 5. Education authorities in a number of states have announced that regular classes will not resume on that day, citing the ongoing Diwali vacation schedule and a weather alert issued for the region.
State education departments are coordinating with local administrations to ensure that the holiday aligns with both the festive calendar and safety considerations. Parents have been advised to keep children at home, especially in areas where the weather warning predicts heavy rain or strong winds.
The decision aims to provide a uniform break for students while minimizing risks associated with the forecasted weather conditions. Schools are expected to resume normal operations on November 6, unless further advisories are issued.
