Scholars Gather at Nalanda University for Two-Day Forum on Indian Knowledge Tradition's Role in Building a Developed India

A national conference on the contribution of India's knowledge heritage to a developed nation will be held on September 21‑22 at Nalanda University, Rajgir, inaugurated by Governor Lt Gen (Retd) Syed Ata Hasnain.
Nalanda University in Rajgir, Bihar, will host a two‑day national symposium on September 21 and 22 titled “The Role of Indian Knowledge Tradition in Building a Developed India.” The event aims to bring together scholars, educators and thought‑leaders from across the country to discuss how India’s ancient intellectual legacy can inform contemporary development policies.
The inaugural session will be presided over by Bihar Governor Lt Gen (Retd) Syed Ata Hasnain, who will address the gathering and underline the importance of integrating traditional knowledge systems with modern growth strategies. Delegates are expected to present papers, panel discussions and case studies that explore contributions of fields such as mathematics, astronomy, medicine and philosophy to current socio‑economic challenges.
Organisers from the university’s Centre for Indian Knowledge Systems have highlighted that the forum will serve as a platform for policy‑makers and academia to exchange ideas on leveraging indigenous wisdom for sustainable development, innovation and inclusive growth.
