Indian boccia player Sachin Chamaria has been called up to the Para Asian Games at the last minute and is targeting a gold medal in the sport.
Sachin Chamaria received a late call‑up to represent India at the upcoming Para Asian Games, a decision announced just weeks before the event begins.
Chamaria, who competes in boccia – a precision ball‑throwing sport for athletes with severe physical impairments – has trained with the national squad for several years, earning a reputation for consistency and strategic play.
The Indian Boccia Association confirmed that Chamaria’s selection follows a review of recent national trials, where he posted the highest scores in the C1 classification.
He expressed confidence that the short notice will not hinder his preparation, noting that his training regimen has been on a steady pace since the start of the season.
Chamaria is determined to bring home a gold medal for India, a first for the country in boccia at the Para Asian Games, and he is already focusing on fine‑tuning his technique in the lead‑up to the competition.
