RSS chief S. S. Bhagwat highlighted that India’s identity is rooted in its diversity during a recent statement.
RSS chief S. S. Bhagwat, the national president of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, stated that India’s national identity is built upon its diversity.
Bhagwat has led the RSS since 2014 and is a prominent figure in India’s right‑wing political landscape. He made the remark in a public address, underscoring the organization’s view that cultural plurality is a core strength of the nation.
The statement came amid ongoing discussions about national unity and social cohesion. By framing diversity as a defining feature, Bhagwat reiterated the RSS’s emphasis on inclusive patriotism.
No official response from other political parties was reported following the remark, but the comment is likely to be cited in future debates on India’s cultural policy.
