The BJP criticised the Gandhi family for not commenting on a pilot’s courageous actions after an attack, suggesting the silence may be linked to the attacker’s religion.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) publicly rebuked the Gandhi family on Tuesday for remaining silent after a commercial pilot was hailed for his bravery during a recent attack. The party’s spokesperson said the pilot’s actions, which saved lives, deserved immediate recognition from all political leaders.
In a pointed statement, the BJP questioned why the Gandhi family had not issued any comment, insinuating that the silence might be rooted in the religious identity of the assailant. The party urged the opposition to set aside partisan considerations and acknowledge the pilot’s heroism irrespective of communal factors.
The Gandhi family has not responded to the BJP’s allegations, and no official statement has been released from their camp as of now. The incident has sparked a broader debate on how political leaders address acts of bravery that intersect with communal sensitivities.
