Munger police detained RJD city president Syed Junayd Makhamur for allegedly posting vulgar content about Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his birthday.
Munger's Kasim Bazar police station arrested Syed Junayd Makhamur, the city president of the Rashtriya Janata Dal, after a complaint was filed alleging that he shared an offensive and indecent post about Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the occasion of the leader's birthday. The police said the material circulated on social media appeared to be deliberately disrespectful and violated provisions related to public order and decency.
Makhamur, a senior RJD functionary in Munger, was taken into custody and produced before the local magistrate. He was booked under sections of the Indian Penal Code that address the publication of obscene material and the hurting of religious or national sentiments.
The investigation is ongoing, and authorities have indicated that further legal action will depend on the outcome of forensic analysis of the posted content and any additional evidence provided by the complainant.
