The regional meteorological department has warned that rain and possible hailstorms are expected in parts of Jammu and Kashmir today, according to the Kashmir Observer.
The Jammu and Kashmir meteorological office issued a weather advisory indicating that showers are likely to develop across the valley and surrounding hills today, with a chance of hail in higher elevations. The bulletin, reported by the Kashmir Observer, advises residents to stay alert for sudden downpours and icy pellets that could affect travel and outdoor activities.
Authorities have urged commuters to exercise caution on mountain roads, where wet or icy conditions may reduce traction. Local administrations are monitoring the situation and stand ready to deploy emergency services if the weather turns severe.
No further details on the intensity or duration of the storm were provided, but the forecast underscores the need for preparedness as the region moves into the monsoon transition period.
