Rahul Gandhi Hosts 'Jalpan' at Home, Invites INDIA Bloc MPs, Civil Society and Student Groups

Rahul Gandhi convened a 'jalpan' at his residence on Tuesday, bringing together members of the INDIA bloc, representatives of civil society and student organisations. The gathering followed the opposition’s launch of the 'March for Democracy' campaign and a petition filed in the Supreme Court challenging the Election Commission’s recent actions.

Invitations were extended to all MPs belonging to the INDIA alliance, as well as leaders from various NGOs and university student bodies. Attendees were briefed on the alliance’s new strategy to counter what they describe as undemocratic practices ahead of the upcoming elections.

The event, described as a modest meal and discussion, underscored the coalition’s intent to coordinate a unified response. Organisers said the meeting will shape the bloc’s future outreach and mobilise support across the country.

No official statements were released beyond the gathering, and the Supreme Court hearing on the petition is scheduled for later this month.
