Delhi police closed the newly established Jantar Mantar 2.0 protest site as part of a broader crackdown on public gathering spaces, amid calls for redemocratisation.
Delhi authorities shut down the newly established Jantar Mantar 2.0 protest site on Thursday, citing security concerns and the need to maintain public order.
The closure is part of a broader crackdown on protest spaces across the capital, with several other sites also being shut down in recent days.
The move follows calls for "redemocratisation" of public spaces, a phrase used by some to emphasize the restoration of democratic norms in civic life.
