Rahul Gandhi announced that the ongoing MPSC movement has been formalised as a digital satyagraha, following the registration of the protest on a newly launched online portal.
Senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi addressed a gathering of supporters and declared that the MPSC movement has now been elevated to a "digital satyagraha". The statement came after the party unveiled an online portal where participants can officially record their involvement in the protest.
The portal, launched on the Congress digital platform, allows activists to submit grievances, share documentation and coordinate actions without physical meet‑ups. Gandhi emphasized that the tool is meant to safeguard the truth in an environment he described as increasingly hostile to factual reporting.
While specific demands were not enumerated in the announcement, Gandhi highlighted that the movement seeks to protect democratic values and hold authorities accountable for suppressing factual discourse. He appealed to the public to join the digital campaign and lend their voices to the cause.
Political analysts note that the shift to a digital format reflects Congress's broader strategy to leverage technology for mass mobilisation, especially in regions where traditional rallies face logistical challenges. The move also underscores the party's effort to present a modern, tech‑savvy image ahead of upcoming electoral contests.
