Rahul Gandhi, joined by ten opposition figures, filed a petition in the Supreme Court seeking a stay on the Second Opinion Report and a comprehensive audit of recent voter deletions.
Rahul Gandhi, together with ten senior opposition leaders, approached the Supreme Court on Thursday, submitting a formal plea that requests a temporary stay on the implementation of the Second Opinion Report (SIR) issued by the Election Commission.
The petition also calls for an independent audit of the voter deletions that were carried out in the recent electoral roll revision, alleging procedural lapses and lack of transparency.
Opposition members argue that the deletions could affect the fairness of upcoming elections and have therefore sought judicial intervention to ensure that any corrective action is subject to scrutiny.
The Supreme Court has listed the matter for hearing, and the petitioners await a decision on whether the court will grant the stay and order the audit.
No response from the Election Commission has been recorded in the filing, and the case remains pending before the apex court.
