Two days after Syara Khan was shot in the leg on the fifth floor of Haider Tower in Bhopal’s Teela Jamalpur, investigators say they have no leads and will now scrutinise telephone records.
Syara Khan was walking on the fifth floor of Haider Tower in the Teela Jamalpur area of Bhopal on Monday when she sustained a gunshot wound to her leg. The incident, which took place in a residential high‑rise, prompted an immediate police response and a lockdown of the building.
Despite a thorough sweep of the premises and interviews with residents, Bhopal police have not identified any suspect or recovered the weapon used. The investigation team has so far been unable to trace the shooter’s identity or motive, and no forensic evidence has yielded a clear lead.
Authorities announced that, after 48 hours without a breakthrough, they will now examine telephone call detail records (CDRs) of individuals who were in the vicinity at the time of the shooting. The police hope that analysing call logs will narrow down potential suspects and lead to an arrest.
The victim is receiving medical treatment and is reported to be in stable condition. The case remains open, and officials have urged anyone with information to come forward.
