District Magistrate Abhilasha Sharma visited the Punpun‑Bataane Sangam zone on Monday to review arrangements for the upcoming Pitrapaksh Mahotsav 2026. The two‑day religious festival, scheduled to begin with a pinddaan ceremony, will be observed before the main celebrations in Gaya.
During the inspection, Sharma directed local officials to enhance cleanliness at the site, ensure a reliable supply of drinking water, improve illumination, and strengthen security personnel deployment. Traffic management plans were also revised to facilitate smooth movement of pilgrims and vehicles.
The Mahotsav will span two days, with the first pinddaan performed at the Punpun‑Bataane confluence, marking the commencement of the rites. Authorities aim to provide a safe and well‑organized environment for devotees attending the event.
