More than 500 paramedical and auxiliary staff (PMAMs) employed in Jammu & Kashmir government hospitals are reporting delayed salaries and problems with their EPF and ESIC contributions, according to Daily Excelsior.

Delhi‑based Daily Excelsior reports that over five hundred paramedical and auxiliary medical staff (PMAMs) across government hospitals in Jammu & Kashmir have not received their salaries on time. The delay, which began in the last payroll cycle, has left many employees struggling to meet daily expenses.

In addition to the salary hold‑up, the affected staff have raised concerns about irregularities in their Employees' Provident Fund (EPF) and Employees' State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) contributions. Several workers claim that their statutory deductions are not being reflected in the official records, potentially jeopardising future benefits.

Hospital administrators have attributed the issue to a pending clearance from the state finance department, which is reportedly reviewing budget allocations for the health sector. The staff unions have called for an urgent meeting with the health ministry to resolve the payment backlog and ensure compliance with EPF‑ESIC regulations.

If the situation persists, the unions have warned of possible industrial action, which could disrupt essential medical services in the region. Authorities have yet to issue a definitive timeline for clearing the dues.
